I found this article in the Penman’s Art Journal, September 1886 where Professor Toland was smack-talking oblique holders. Boy, you can see him laying it on!

And then three months later Mr. Russell had to bring him down a peg or two. Ooooh the burn!

I enjoy reading these old journals and finding little gems like this from time to time.
